Wheel of the Year
The Wheel of the Year is a sacred seasonal cycle observed by Wiccans, witches, pagans, and other magical practitioners, marking the passage of time through nature’s rhythms, cosmic events, and agricultural cycles. Rooted in Celtic, Germanic, Norse, and broader European traditions, this cycle honors life, death, growth, rest, and renewal through eight seasonal festivals known as the Sabbats.
This foundational yet deeply enriching course offers a guided journey through all eight Sabbats, with one unit dedicated to each chapter of the Wheel. Designed to be both educational and experiential, the course blends historical context, mythic symbolism, and practical spirituality, allowing students to understand where these traditions come from while exploring how they may live meaningfully in the present.
What You'll Learn
Each unit explores a single Sabbat in depth, weaving together history, symbolism, and seasonal themes with optional guided practices. Rituals and spells are presented as examples and adaptable guides, empowering students to shape the work according to their own spiritual paths, cultural context, and lived experience. This course is intentionally non-dogmatic and encourages thoughtful adaptation rather than rigid observance.
Historical and cultural foundations of the Sabbat
Symbolism, mythology, and seasonal energies
Suggested altar themes and devotional practices
A guided ritual or spell (adaptable for personal use)
A seasonal recipe and traditional craft
Journaling prompts for reflection and integration
A themed tarot spread for divination and insight
The course is ideal for beginners seeking a strong, well-rounded foundation, while also offering depth and reflection that experienced practitioners will find meaningful and restorative. Students are invited to move at their own pace, returning to lessons as the Wheel turns year after year.
Upon completion of the course, students receive both a Certificate of Completion and a Coven Academy Certificate, recognizing their dedication to study and practice.
As part of Coven Academy, the educational arm of Infinity Coven, this course reflects a commitment to integrity, accessibility, and reverence for earth-based traditions. The Wheel of the Year is not presented as a checklist of holidays, but as a living framework—one that invites ongoing relationship with the land, the seasons, and the self.
You will receive a digital download with directions to enroll in the class.
